2. Reflection on the Understanding Comics Reading
The university of simple objects is the basis of this project. Our poster, going from least abstract to most abstract trains the eye to see the object even when it is something much different. Also it talks about emotions and how objects are symbols of other things, just like the index and some other parts of our project.1. Reflection on the project: What did you learn?
I learned a lot about the process of coming up with ideas. I often have pretty ridiculous ideas and since we had to do 20 for each category, these interesting ideas came out and sometimes lead to much better representations of my object because it would spark a new idea. I also learned a lot about features in Photoshop and Illustrator and got a lot of practice working with both.Sunday, October 24, 2010

Word Origin & History
diffusion
late 14c., from L. diffusionem , from stem of diffundere "scatter, pour out," from dif- "apart, in every direction" + fundere "pour" (see found (2)).
migration
1610s, of persons, 1640s of animals, from L. migrationem (nom. migratio ), from pp. stem of migrare "to move from one place to another," probably originally *migwros , from PIE *meigw- (cf. Gk. ameibein "to change"), from base *mei- "to change, go, move" (see mutable). That European birds migrate across the seas or to Asia was understood in the Middle Ages, but subsequently forgotten. Dr. Johnson held that swallows slept all winter in the beds of rivers, while the naturalist Morton (1703) stated that they migrated to the moon.
